Okay, so it’s the second Wednesday of the month and I meant to do this on the first Wednesday of every month, but last week was crazy with the start of school and I needed a minute. 🙂 BUT, here is the second piece of artwork I made recently for The Alt-World Chronicles, and it’s a fun one…
Trolls Serve the Best BBQ in Town
First, my apologies to the bodybuilder in the stock photo I used, because I managed to make an ugly troll out of him fairly easily. A little size distortion here, a little rounding of the nose and ears there, and voila — a Sanctuary troll. LOL
Second, if you’ve ready Alterni, you might remember that the troll owner of Marybeth’s BBQ Restaurant has a different message across her apron, but this one ties in with that because Marybeth is, in fact, the mother of all the trolls who work there. That’s just a little fun fact I always knew in my head, but it was never relevant enough to actually include in the story.
Also, if you don’t know, Kansas City barbecue is superior to all other Missouri barbecue. Yes, this is a hill I’m willing to die on, and I might forever dislike one of my husband’s cousins because she insisted otherwise. …Anyway… When I was trying to decide what day jobs to give the trolls of the Sanctuary, it seemed fitting that they be excellent cooks who love their meat. And since Kansas City is such a specific setting, naturally they run the barbecue scene.
