Demons are winning. Allies are rebelling. This war isn’t what they thought.
Esme and Owen survived the demons’ worst attack in generations. Understanding it is another matter entirely.
As the malevolenci return stronger and more cunning than ever before, the war fractures into something far more dangerous. Ancient tensions within the Order are rising fast. Alliances are shifting, and the Order is no longer as united as it once seemed.
Together, Esme and Owen race to end the war before all is lost. They must push deeper into the truth behind the malevolenci and their war, and this means chasing answers through ancient texts, forgotten caves, and blood memories…
Finding the malevolenci’s weakness might save them all, but uncovering the truth could tear apart everything the already-fragile Order believes. And for Esme and Owen’s relationship, some revelations might be too big to bear.
The Characters
Esme has evolved…
Incredible power now flows through Esme’s scorched hands. Will it be enough? She now knows what will happen if she fails. Surviving isn’t enough – she has to win.
Owen is running out of time…
If he doesn’t find a way to end this war quickly, it’s all over. There are no more magical saviors. There is no reset if he fails. And if he doesn’t act fast, there might not be an Order left to save.
Their team is fighting an unwinnable war…
These battle-hardened soldiers must hold the line and find the malevolenci’s weakness before it’s too late. But even the best can’t survive forever.
They survived the worst battle. Understanding the war may cost everything…
- Where did the demons come from?
- How do they know Esme is the last?

- What are the alterni…and who are the origini truly?
If they don’t find these answers, they can’t win…
But if they do find them, the Order will never be the same.
